I use these gloves for handling my hot ovenware...they're much better than plain mitts -- the separate finger space permits much more dexterity! I used these for all of my holiday baking, and now use them exclusively for all oven work. Fantastic product... If you have a fireplace, you should really have a good pair of fireplace gloves. If you use them carefully, you barely need to have any other fireplace tools. There are others on the market, of course, but I find these particular gloves to be excellent performers and an excellent value for their price.

gloves worked well. I bought them so my son in law could add wood to the fire with out burning his arm.

They work very well unless you stick them in the direct flame, then you quickly feel the heat. I know that was my fault :-)

The gloves work well for what I wanted them for and the only reason they did not get 4 stars is because I was expecting them to have slightly thicker material. They will work fine though for what they are designed for. BBQ, Fireplace, etc.

I bought these because my wife burnt the oven mitt. So far I love it. I use the oven a lot for broiling and cooking. These gloves definitely protect your hands and the wrist. I was able to hold on to an iron skillet at 450 degrees for about 10 seconds before it started to get uncomfortable. Grasping cookie sheets and pizza stones...etc are a breeze. Very convenient to have the use of all your fingers. They have silicone pads/patches on the outside for extra grip and more insulation. A word of warning though, those silicone pads get really hot on the surface so be very careful not to touch them immediately after handling something very hot. That's my only gripe. It's a little weird to actually wear gloves as opposed to an oven mitt but you stop caring once you see how convenient they are. Absolutely would by them again. A pair for $25 I think is a fair enough price. Remember that these gloves don't make you invincible so use them with common sense.

Product seems to be pretty good and certainly saves the hands. The gloves are a bit small and are rather tight for a man. Very disappointed with the delivery service. My son bought them for his mum and they should have been delivered 5 days before Christmas but finally came over a week after.

The Oven Glove 2 pack is a great deal. They work great and I think the price was much better than the other brand. Thanks for the fast service.

This is the first time someone has designed an oven glove that is long enough to save burning the wrist area when reaching into the oven to remove a casserole. I took a chance, but I am glad I did as I have not had a burn since I purchased them. I have sensitive skin so the burns I had were serious, now no burns. I would recommend them to anyone that does a lot of cooking and baking to prevent burns.

They feel very strange especially if your hands are a bit damp. But they do a stellar job of preventing burns.

I purchased these oven mitts for my hubby for Christmas. He is very pleased with them. They're flexible and comfortable and protective. They would be perfect if they extended a little higher up the arm.

The Lekue Silicone Mitt is soft, flexible and the color is pretty, just as I expected. There was a video on Amazon recommending the mitt, which was helpful. There was however one small negative surprise: when I held a hot baking tray for longer, maybe 5 minutes, (trying to scratch the meat off the tray) I felt some heat through the mitt. Nothing serious though.

There is a slight trick to using silicone potholders instead of cloth, but overall this and other silicone hand protective cooking products that I have purchased work great! See the video review by another customer. I recommend this, too!

In this video I show the mitt "in action" so that you can see how effective it is. It grips wonderfully and doesn't get hot inside like some others. The Lekue mitt I bought was the green one, but this mitt is exactly the same---the color is just tangerine instead. My wife bought these welding gloves for me after I left a fire glove on top of the wood stove and the fingers shrunk and hardened. They are much more flexible and well insulated than any gloves that I have seen that are made for tending a wood stove. The flexibility is great, and it's easy to pick up hot coals that fall out of the wood stove with them. I've yet to use them for welding, but I'm sure they will be fine.

One of the things that never made, and still doesn't make, a whole lot of sense is why oven mittens are made for people with a big paw and an opposable thumb. I don't know any human hands designed that way so I'm at a loss for most oven mitt design. They completely ignore the fact that you have 4 fingers and that they can actually be quite useful in handling extremely heavy and scalding hot pots and pans. Enter welding gloves. I'm a disciple of Alton Brown and he actively encourages cooks to get their cooking hardware and gear where ever they can. That usually means a trip to the hardware store. However, for some reason, Home Depot and Orchard Supply don't have much use for stocking welding gloves. Oh well, it was Amazon to the rescue again! The gloves come simply packaged, but they are well made and excellently suited for the job of handling hot cookware around the kitchen. They have great heat resistance, though I think some of the big mitts can handle somewhat higher temperatures for longer periods of time. This is completely compensated for though by their durability and the fact that you can use all five of your digits. This actually makes you much safer in the kitchen than a little more heat resistance can. The only downside to welding gloves I would say is the fact that the mitts can't be washed. There's kevlar, leather and all kinds of other materials that your washer would annihilate if you threw them in. Small price to pay in my estimation though. You can still use a wet towel to get off any bits that are too unsightly or caked on. Overall, these are very well made, very heat resistant, very durable and most importantly offer great manual dexterity with hot items in the kitchen. An absolute must for me. Also, the blue beast logo is pretty cool. Highly recommended!

One glove helps for heat resistence, but I can definately see that using two gloves would resist the heat better.
