Bought this for my 6 year old daughter to play t-ball. It is awesome. She can close it easily when the ball is caught. It's nice & soft, yet very durable. You won't be disappointed in this glove. We purchased a "standard" baseball glove from Walmart and it was way too rigid. She didn't have enough strength to close it, even when we put a ball in the pocket and put elastic bands around it. It was just way to hard. This new glove has already given her a lot of confidence in her catching.

We purchased these for our two grandsons, and we thought that they were great for the money. The gloves were soft, instead of hard. Our grandsons are 3 and 5 years old. They are going to start little league this spring. The gloves will be just perfect for that.

Properly sized for the younger youth. Great leather, great feel, great smell(very important). And of course beautifully functional. As one grandson (age 4) said "very professional".

Just got this glove for my 5 yr old son who is starting t-ball this year. Glove is very easy for him to put on and more importantly very easy for him to open and close. Son is already able to start catching balls and do not have to worry about the ball just falling out of the glove like some other gloves that take forever to break in. I would highly recommend this glove.

Finally found a glove that was easy to open and close for my 5 year-old grandson. He is now catching the ball very well. I have to say that this is the perfect first glove for any child playing T-ball.

Could not find a left handed glove in any store around home and needed one within a week. Great glove, already broken-in soft, got it in record time.

My 14 year old grandson loves his new glove. It needed no breaking in and he tells me that he uses it everyday practicing to tryout for the high school baseball team.

My son plays in the Pony League and moved up from Shetland (5-6) to Pinto (7-8). He outgrew his starter 10" glove and needed a larger glove. I researched sizes and read numerous opinions online. The recommended sizes for a 7 year old generally ranged from 10.5 to 11. I took a hard look at the 10.5 and decided against it, since the half inch was barely noticable. I also looked at the 10.75 glove, which seemed perfect. However my son is a leftie and plays 1st base. A larger (11 inch) glove gives him more catching range. I bought the 11 and worked with him in the preseason to strengthen his hand and get used to the larger glove. He's now 3 months into the season and playing great ball at 1st. This Mizuno glove is great. Mizuno really put alot of thought in designing this glove for kids. It uses pigskin, which is soft and comes broken in. It also has improvement aides like the notch in the palm and a half lace pocket, which aid in the closing the glove easier to secure the ball. Finally, its light weight which reduces fatigue and quicken catching motions. I compared a number of gloves and this glove had the best features, is better suited for a 7 - 8 year old and had a great price. Do your own homework before purchasing a glove, because this single piece of equipment has a large impact on your child's baseball experience. Lastly get out and have fun playing catch with your child!

My 7yo son is interested in baseball, although he's never played organized baseball before. For Christmas, I bought him a few baseball essentials -- balls, a bat, and this glove. Thanks to Amazon reviewers, this turned out to be a terrific choice! The glove fits well in his hand, and it's comfortable. More importantly, although he's never played a game of catch with a baseball glove before, he was able to catch a few of the balls I tossed towards him -- in the glove-up position! That really encouraged him a lot. As others have noted, there is no break-in period needed to begin using this glove -- it snaps shut, even when little hands are controlling it. In case you don't know any better, buying a glove for a right-handed thrower means that the glove is for a right-handed child, so the glove is actually worn on the *left* hand. The opposite is true when buying a glove for a left-handed thrower. I think I would have confused myself when I ordered this product had I thought too deeply about what I was buying. My son is right-handed, so I just picked a right-handed thrower's glove, and was very happy to open the box and realize that the glove would be worn on my son's *left* hand.

I PURCHASED THIS GLOVE FOR MY SIX YR. OLD TBALL PLAYER, AND IT DID NOT FIT AT ALL...WAY TOO SMALL......NOT WORTH THE MONEY, VERY STIFF!!POOR QUALITY...

In general, I like these little Mizuno gloves. They're highly flexible and lightweight and nearly perfect for younger players. My beef with this particular glove is the difference between the glove's description and its picture. I ordered this particular model for my 7-year-old because of its open back. I do not like the finger slot and would not have ordered this glove if I had known that it has a finger-slot back. Unfortunately, I paid too much attention to the picture (which is open-backed) instead of the description (which describes it as having a finger-slot back). Again, these Mizuno gloves are great, and my kids have had two before this one. Just make sure you're ordering what you mean to order; I wish I had.

I bought a new Rawlings glove a couple of months ago, and have played catch with it quite a bit since then. However, the glove wasn't breaking in as quickly as I'd hoped, so I purchased this product. The Nokona Leather Treatment has worked beautifully on my glove. I applied the treatment yesterday afternoon, and after leaving it on overnight with a ball in the pocket of the glove and the glove tied up with a shoelace, I played catch with it today. The glove is much more comfortable now, and well on its way to being broken in, with a gorgeous pocket to boot. If you're like me, you've probably already looked up how to break in a baseball glove online and seen all the ridiculous answers. Before trying anything as drastic as baking or microwaving your glove (which quite possibly will cause the leather to crack), or dragging your glove behind your car (really??), give this product a go. It should do the trick. The only drawback was that applying the product was a bit messy, but it comes right off the hands when you wash them in some warm water.

This item did a really good job on my daughters' softball gloves. Will buy again.
